My name is Isadora, but you can call me Izzy! I’m an extroverted, pansexual, hedonist who loves to express themselves through the visual arts. Whether it’s digital art, traditional art, or writing, I love to embrace the diversity of human emotion, sexuality, and gender through a creative lens.
My subject matter has always been controversial.
Right now, my main focus is on finishing my BDSM Tarot Deck. The Inspiration for this deck is to expand on a commissioned art project that I worked on about 10 years ago. I illustrated a BDSM themed Major Arcana for a client. The thought process that went into the design of each card was collaborative effort. Only about 500 mini decks were printed, but they were sold at a local occult shop and are proudly displayed at the Museum of Tarot in Brussels and the Museo del Tarot in Spain!
I always wanted to go further with the concept and redraw the whole deck on my own. I was discouraged to do it for a long time because I didn't want to "step on anyone's toes," but I've realized that my deck will be 100% me so I've since pushed past that fear. I'm starting backwards this time with the Minor Arcana and am about ⅓ of the way done.
I’ve had diverse experiences as an indie artist working on personal projects, as a collaborator within an artist collective, as a freelance graphic designer for small family-owned businesses and large corporations, as a customer care representative and consultant for an art supply company, and through it all I’ve always desired to create art for myself, my way, without restrictions. It’s taken me a long time to personally accept the title of “Artist” but I’ve found that after years of internal struggle, I’m on my path of creative recovery and I’m excited to share my progress with old and new friends in the art community!
Lovingly,
Izzy
